Skills Camp at Lamoka Baptist Camp is a unique and exciting option for campers of all ages! During this camp, FOUR different skill-based tracks run simultaneously alongside our regular Teen Week schedule (Note, in 2024, Skill’s Camps do not ALL run during the same week as in previous years. Please check the dates of each of the Skill’s Camps/tracks). The tracks this year include Fine Arts (music track), Art, Adventure, and Writing. We bring in professionals in their field to run and instruct in each of these programs, but more importantly, we use these camps as an opportunity to teach our campers how to better use their gifts and abilities for the glory of God! Click on an option below to see the details of a specific program running during our Skills Camp Tracks.

The week includes all the activities Camp Lamoka is known for (tubing, climbing, archery, group games, swimming, crafts, etc.), but also includes daily sessions, activities, and practices that are focused on music. Additionally, all campers will come together to form a large group choir which will prepare a number of choral pieces for the live-stream concert at the end of the week

Fine Arts Instructors: Kathy Knowles and Jodi Howard
Speaker: Josh Perez
I am the interim pastor at Emmanuel Baptist church. I am happily married to my wife Rebecca who is the Robin to my Batman, especially on the technology side of things. We have twin girlies who just turned 1 in February. I’m biased but they’re pretty cute. I love to read anything I can get my hands on, even the occasional telephone book. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 is my favorite Bible passage if I had to choose only one.
COST: $385
Ages: 10-18

Campers should be prepared to take placement exams when they arrive on Monday. These informal, low stress exams will allow us to place your child in the right theory class and practice groups.

Campers with a Band Focus will join a group of both advanced and beginner musicians to prepare 1-2 pieces for the Fine Art’s Live-Stream Concert at the end of the week. The instructor of the Band Focus is Kathy Knowles.
