A five-day camping experience for children 4 to 6 years old (entering Pre-K up to 7 years old.) This camp is designed to help your child become comfortable with the camp environment and discover their place in the family of God.

STARTER'S DAY CAMP INFORMATION
Starter’s Day Camp is a five-day camping experience for children 4 to 6 years old (entering Pre-K up to 7 years old.) These camps are designed to introduce your young people to camp while teaching them about God and His Word. Starter’s Day Camp is, as the name suggests, a day camp and runs from 9 am to 4 pm,* MONDAY through FRIDAY (see the dates below for more specific information.) Our Day Camp Director, Kelly Swimley, is a wife, mom to three, grandma to seven, and “Aunt Kelly “ to hundreds. She has 26 years of experience directing Awana Cubbies, and 14 years working as a NYS level three certified Teaching Assistant working in Pre K. She has enjoyed directing Starters Day Camp since it’s inception, and loves seeing kids return for youth camp when they’re old enough. Our Day Camp Counselors are passionate about creating a fun and engaging camp experience for your day camper(s). Every week Starter’s Day Camp will include crafts, games, music, swimming, Biblical lessons, lunch, a snack, and much more. Your day camper(s) may attend as many, or as few, days as they wish (see the cost breakdown below for more information.) The program is different every week!
*Extended hours are available for an extra fee if you need your child to stay with us until the end of your workday or until you can pick them up. Extended hours cost $10/hr/camper, and may increase by $10/camper/meal if they need to be with us for an extra meal (breakfast or dinner.) If you need extended hours, please fill out the Extended Hours Form AFTER you have registered for camp. Contact the office about extended hours

*Children who are 7 years old and are not ready for regular overnight camp may attend day camp. Please contact our office if this is the case. Children need to be day-time potty-trained in order to attend day camp.

• Extra Spending Money for Crafts (Optional –day campers receive crafts and snacks at no extra cost as part of the program. Campers can still bring extra money if they want to do more crafts or buy more snacks than those provided)
NOTE: Each child will be given a brightly colored shirt to wear while they are on our campus. This shirt allows us to identify them quickly as Day Campers. These shirts are returned and laundered each day (or as needed). If you would like to purchase your child’s shirt to keep at the end of the week, you may do so for an additional fee ($15 in 2027).
SAFETY & INSPECTIONS
Our staff is well-trained and one of our priorities is your camper’s safety. We have at least one Registered Nurse (RN), one First Responder, and multiple CPR-certified persons on staff and on campus at all times. Lamoka is an official Red Cross Learn to Swim Facility. During certain Day Camps, our Waterfront Safety Instructor will teach our day campers basic swimming lessons. If they attend all five days, they will leave with a learn to swim certificate/card LEVEL ONE (if they can pass all the skills taught). Please contact us for more details and dates of this special offering.

Driving Directions:
From the North / Northwest (via Rochester / Geneva): Take I-90 E to Exit 42 for NY-14 toward Geneva/Penn Yan. Head south on NY-14 S through Penn Yan and Dundee. Turn right onto County Rd 23 / Mud Lake Rd heading toward Tyrone, then follow local signs onto E Lamoka Lake Rd to the camp entrance.
From the South / Southeast (via Corning / Elmira / Southern Tier Expressway): Take I-86 / NY-17 to Exit 41 (Campbell) or Exit 42 (Coopers Plains). Head north on Co Rd 16 / NY-226 N toward Savona and Bradford. Continue onto NY-226 N through Bradford, then turn onto E Lamoka Lake Rd to reach the camp on the shores of Lamoka Lake.
